Milaidhoo Island Maldives
Milaidhoo · Baa Atoll
Luxury · seaplane · 35 min · $900 – $3,500 / night
Milaidhoo is a tranquil Maldivian escape, renowned for its intimate atmosphere and exceptional dining experiences. With only 36 villas, it offers an exclusive retreat best suited for couples or solo travelers seeking profound seclusion. Its standout features include a magnificent house reef for snorkeling and diving, and Ba'theli, a remarkable restaurant built on a traditional Maldivian boat, offering exquisite local cuisine.
Getting There
A 35-minute seaplane to Baa Atoll. Short enough to be comfortable for guests nervous about small aircraft. The Hanifaru Bay flyover en route is an unofficial bonus.
Food
Two restaurants — small in number but exceptional in quality. Milaidhoo's Ba'theli restaurant is built on a traditional Maldivian dhoni boat and serves a tasting menu that draws on local flavour traditions with modern technique. One of the most distinctive dining experiences in the Maldives.
The Vibe
Intimate to the point of feeling private even with other guests present. Only 23 beach and 13 overwater villas means you rarely encounter more than a handful of people at any one time. Couples and solo travellers who value discretion love it.
Activities
The Ba'theli floating restaurant and carefully curated spa are the signature experiences. The dive programme covers some of Baa Atoll's best sites. The intimacy of the resort means any activity is personal rather than scheduled.
The Reef
A true Baa Atoll gem. The house reef surrounds the island with clean, accessible entry points and excellent coral health. Manta rays visit during aggregation season, whale sharks are possible on excursions, and turtles are seen on almost every outing. Experts and frequent Maldives visitors regularly cite Milaidhoo's reef as among the very best in the country.
Kids' Club
No kids' club — Milaidhoo is adults-focused. Not suitable for families with young children.
What Guests Say
Milaidhoo offers an intimate adults-only escape within the Baa Atoll, featuring an exceptional house reef and highly-rated dining at its three restaurants. The resort's small size and serene atmosphere ensure a deeply private experience, though the limited dining options may not suit all palates over an extended stay.
