St. Regis Maldives Vommuli
Vommuli · Dhaalu Atoll
Ultra-Luxury · seaplane · 40 min · $1,500 – $7,000 / night
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli caters to discerning couples and families seeking inspired design and a lively yet sophisticated atmosphere. Known for its distinct architectural elements, like the whale ribcage-inspired Rational Bar, it offers six inventive dining venues and a breadth of activities from diving to yoga. This resort provides a social environment where theatrical design sparks conversation yet maintains an elegant balance.
Getting There
A 40-minute seaplane from Malé into Dhaalu Atoll. Smooth and spectacular. Daylight-only operation. The resort arranges overnight stays in Malé for guests who miss the window.
Food
Six dining venues including a Rational Bar built to resemble the ribcage of a blue whale. The food is inventive and consistently excellent, with a strong emphasis on fresh seafood and locally inspired flavours. One of the more theatrically designed dining programmes in the Maldives.
The Vibe
Social enough to feel alive but not loud. The theatrical design — whale ribcage bar, overwater venues — creates conversation naturally. Evening atmosphere is lively, daytime is peaceful. A good balance for couples who want both.
Activities
The St. Regis butler programme means any activity can be arranged at any time. Diving, snorkelling, and a full water sports programme are available. The Whale Bar is worth experiencing simply for the architectural spectacle.
The Reef
Guests describe a healthy reef with good direct access from the jetty. Turtle and reef shark sightings are consistent, and the dive centre offers excellent excursions to Dhaalu Atoll's outer reefs. The house reef earns solid marks rather than superlatives, with the bigger draws found on excursion.
Kids' Club
No dedicated kids' club, though the theatrical elements of the resort — the Whale Bar, the overwater venues — are naturally engaging for older children. Not a family-first resort.
What Guests Say
